About an hour west of my house, in the foothills of the Berkshire Mountains is a small quaint little town called Shelburne Falls. There are many little shops & galleries to poke around in and some great eateries here as well. There are also the glacial potholes in the river which are a sight to see for sure. But the real draw to this town is an old 1908 trolley bridge turned garden. When the railway went out of business in the 20's due to trucking taking over the freight business, the unused bridge became an eyesore. But someone had a vision & the bridge was purchased and turned into a garden spanning the Deerfield River...and has been kept up for 80 years now. If you ever get to Massachusetts this is definitely a place to add to your list. It is the only garden of its kind in the world. The photo below of Jake & I was taken there on the bridge last fall just as summer was coming to an end & the trees were beginning to change colors.
